Hi PHers,
I remmeber reading in EVO a few years back about this bloke who sits next to you in your own car, on the road, and turns you into a godlike (and safer) driver. It cost 500ish for a day I believe. Does such a service still exist? If so, have any of you PHers tried it?
Many thanks,
Paul Morte

There is Cadence too: http://www.cadence.co.uk/

I believe some of there instructors are also HPC gatekeepers

Or, for a quarter of the price, IAM Skill for Life. In my opinion IAM isn't the 'be all and end all' but it makes a starting point and means you can get more out of a day's coaching with people like Cadence and RideDrive. Another option would be the HPC entry course, which is 2 and a half days, but again you'd need to have done IAM or Rospa first.

Think of it like this
- 'L' test is a GCSE in driving
- IAM / Rospa are A-levels in driving
- Cadence/Ridedrive/HPC are degrees in driving.

Your degree 'professor' will just end up teaching you A-level stuff if you're only at GCSE standard to begin with.

Only Hugh Noblett.

Outside of Cadence the other HPC gatekeepers are Clive Jones and Andy Morrison, the former of which I can vouch for.

Thanks all, this is all super helpful. I'm going on one of those Italian lakes drives in 1950s alfas next year so I feel I'd enjoy it more if I could drive properly.
