The High Performance Club will be running another Young Drivers Day on the 14th of July 2012. This is open to those who are aged 26 years or less and hold a full driver's licence, and are not already HPC members. The aims of the day are to:
  • Promote awareness of driving skills at advanced levels
  • Encourage the participants to develop their own skills
  • Have fun
More details are available on the HPC website.

It depends wink

The form is simply an expression of interest and your place won't be confirmed until payment is received nearer the time.

Bump. I'm hoping to attend again (went in 2010).

It was recommended I take the entry course last time. If only I had the car and money frown Darn being a student!

Hi,

Could the organisers of this please email or PM me the address to send payment too.
As on the PDF that was enclosed on the original email, the address was cut off partially.

Thanks Rob

I've never been along to one of these. Only I've seen it advertised in other places, and thought that I'd ask you what happens there and the cost if possible smile

Thanks, Phil

The day is focused around 2 sessions of driving with HPC members in your own car. Those sessions are meant to encourage discussion about advanced driving techniques and hopefully give you some useful feedback. The HPC members will also demonstrate in their cars, so you can observe and enquire about their approach. As we all as the drives, there are some short talks on key topics like cornering, hazard perception and overtaking given by the Club's professional coaches.

It is definitely a day designed to be enjoyable and informative. We are an inquisitive Club, which likes to have an open debate about the best approach, rather than following prescriptive rules. The greatest success is when people go away with a new awareness of their own driving strengths and development areas. A large number of attendees have been inspired to take their driving to the next level, whether joining IAM or RoADA or HPC.

The cost is around £30 (to cover catering and room hire).

Cheers

Excellent, well I went on the HPC website and applied, the cheque will be in the post tomorrow. Hopefully come July if I've got the place we 'll have something a bit faster and more interesting than a Micra to use (Possibly a TVR biggrin). Im certainly up to learning something new and improving my skills behind the wheel smile
