This is the second time I've seen this, and now I think it's an emergency stop on rubbish tyres rather than an overtake. Damn scary either way.
+1. The nose of the camera car dives before he moves out to 'pass' the box van - so he's already on the brakes. Just not hard enough. BonzoG said:

Or too hard? In any case, too late. It is slippery enough for the lorry to jackknife on a straightish bit of road.
Looks like the lorry was caught out by the slow moving/stopped snow plough, presumably he never realised it was going slow or had stopped, and swerved out last second causing the near jack-knife. Gassing Station | Advanced Driving | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
