Chaps

I need a basic navigation unit. Two essential requirements and one optional:

<essential> Mother dearest will be able to operate it - so it can't be too complex
<essential> It can take my friends and me to the 'Ring and back some time this year
<optional> It comes or can be updated with a speed camera database...

Does the TomTom One Europe fit the bill and is there anything better <£250? Dixons has it for ~£212.

I've done some trawling and it looks like the best so far...

I got mine at Halfords for £199.
Works a treat so far, esp with the pocketgpsworld speed cameras

As said above most places sell this for £199 now so dont pay anymore than that..
As for your mum using it I think she should be ok,got one for my dad at christmas and he manages to use it fine and it only took me about 10 mins to exlain how it works..
Only downside of these is the battery life is poor I dont know if they are all like this but it often needs a reset before you can switch it on..

A mate of mine who is well known to have temper strops with anything resembling a gadget got one recently and loves it, he only considered throwing it through the window when it keeps badgering about U turns.

Unlike when he borrowed mine, I'd told it to avoid tolls for driving in France and it was sending him into Essex avoiding the Dartford crossing, just glad I got it back in one piece.
