Garmin 12 GTM ariel

I am looking at buying the Garmin Travel kit in order to help me avoid traffic.

Has anyone used one of these and if so, is it worth the money? How does it work too? Does it automatically re-route you to avoid the traffic build up or do you have to view the flow of traffic yourself?

I got one at new year, it seems to work pretty automatically. It's only major limitation is that the data is from the TMC traffic information, so it can only ever be as good as that.
