TomTom Rider Bluetooth dongle problem

The bit that the earphone plugs into won't charge any more.
Can I use anything else, or can I get a new one/replacement from anywhere? I've done a web search, but no joy...

Does it plug into a cradle and the cradle has stopped working, or is the charger not working, or is it the GPS device that doesn't want to take a charge. A picture of what isn't working with an explanation might be useful and then i might be able to help.

It's a dangly dongle that sends and receives bluetooth sound from the TomTom Rider.
It's charged using a 13amp transformer charger that also works with the Rider. The Rider is fine. The charger is fine. It's just this little transmitter receiver that isn't working because it won't take a charge, but without it, the Rider is speechless as there's no integral speaker.
I can make the Rider work with my normal phone bluetooth headset - sort of... but it's not ideal, and my Autocom won't work with it.

If it's not taking a charge and the rest of the other kit is ok then it's down to either the battery being knackered or requiring conditioning or potentially the connector inside the dongle maybe has a wire off it and might need soldering back on.
To condition battery - Leave the dongle switched on so that it completely discharges anything left in the battery then recharge. Do that 2 or 3 times and it may do the trick as sometimes batteries need to be discharged several times from new so they can take a full charge. You have to do that with some bluetooth headsets if it gives a very short battery use time.
Dongle connector - you have no option but to carefully take it apart and have a look at the female connector where you insert the charge lead. There may be nothing visually wrong with it in which case it may be that you have to return it to TomTom for them to repair. If it is still under guarantee i wouldn't take it apart as that will probably invalidate the warranty.
If you get no joy with either of the above options then either the battery is truly knackered and you can get that swopped out by a dealer or mobile phone shop, or there is something wrong with the electronics and if it's out of warranty, get a new one as it will probably cost more to repair.

I'd love to, but TomTom don't answer my emails, and shops don't sell them...
THAT'S what I was hoping to discover! Where to buy one...
If tomtom don't return your emails call them up and get through to the service department. Give them sh1t and that might just get you somewhere.
Have a look here too... www.blueunplugged.com/c.aspx?c=41123
Had a look at the tomtom website, i can't even see that dongle on their site. God they are effing useless!!!
