Hi folks,

Been looking for a replacement for my aging Garmin GPS V for a while, and always liked the TomTom (my dad has a 700 and my wife a 510) - however, it won't log where I've been unlike my faithful Garmin.

Just seen this utility for it though - www.webazar.org/tomtom/tripmaster.php?lang=uk - in the Speed Software thread (www.pistonheads.co.uk/gassing/topic.asp?t=339044&f=153&h=0)

Has anybody used it? Looks to be just the sort of thing I'm after! How often does it save your location? Does it work on all machines (TT1, old 300/500/700 and new 510,710,910)??

Been trying it out this week, seems to work well and do exactly what it says. I'll be using it to log distances for work trips, and for the occasional "make a nice speed/distance graph" mission on favourite routes

Location, speed etc is saved every 60 seconds by default but that can be configured along with most other things. Speed display is large & easy to read. Easy to use also with main functions all controlled by one touch from the main screen. I'm using it on a 910 but I assume it would work on at least the 510 & 710. Not sure about the others.

Just give it a go. It's free so what have you got to lose? Hats off to the author, I think he's done a great job with it beer

Thanks for that!

The web site says "These plugins work only on Linux Tomtom devices : GOx10, GOx00, Rider, One and OneV2 !"

Hopefully should work on the OneV2 I plan on getting then...

Sounds interesting! However, I think you will do well to get the accuracy good enough to show racing lines, etc.

My Garmin (albeit an old one) is accurate enough to stick to roads at jjunctions, but not enough to tell me which side of the road...

Would be good to have circuits programmed into tom tom, but it would never be good enough to show racing lines, inches matter there, GPS is about 1meter either way!
Combe shows you in a field, but if you go to Prescott the whole hill is on there as it is someones drive!!
