I've got the Indago and when the Syrius came out less than 4 months later was well p'd off!

A mate who's just been caught by a scamera asked 'what detector to get' and I offered him my Indago for £200 and bought a Syrius

When it arrived I was very unimpressed, Firstly the Indago is metal and compared to the 'plastic' chrome on the Syrius its worlds apart,

Also I noticed that the Syrius 'zoomed' back a bit more than the Indago so you could see more of the map but this made the text smaller as well as the marker for where your car is, so making it harder to follow 'at a glance'

I 'tested' them both driving from Milton Keynes to Birmingham (I had them both mounted to the screen an inch apart)and noticed,

The Indago had a far better contrast to the screen than the Syrius makeing it far easier to read when the sun hits the screen, at some points I could not read the Syrius but could still read the Indago

The 'direction box' on the Indago is larger and again more contrasting making it much easier to follow

The text on the Indago can be read at a glance and the Syrius required looking at to follow - not something I want to do whilst driving!

In summary I had to say sorry to my mate, and kept the Indago, and put the Syrius on eBay and sold it, much as I wanted to love the widescreen I could not get away from the build quality or performance of the Indago,

I have to say though that the Syrius has the better antenna, it locks faster and holds a stronger signal, though I've never had a problem with the Indago the syrius could lock 8/9 sats where the Indago would be on 7

Go for the Indago would be my recommendation!

I got a Road Angel Navigator 6000 last week for 170 and havent got any complaints so far - gets all the cameras, the sat nav seems to work well so far and deals with taking alternate routes well.
At the end of the day its horses for courses, some will defend tomtom or snooper with their lives it seems but the road angel is fine for me. No probs so far

I've had an Indago for a while now, and have to say that i wished i had chosen something different. There are two major issues with mine:
It can take ages to lock on to the satellites. I understand it is better with more frequent use, but it has been known to take 30 minutes!
You can't plan a route with more than one "via" point. So if you want to go from A to G, via B,C,D,E and F - the Indago won't do it (Unless someone on here has made more careful use of the manual and knows better )

Other than these two issues, it is a solid piece of kit, and works fine (once locked on)

Have you contacted Snooper?

I once had a sat lock problem and they gave me the 'hard reset' code which defalts everything back to as 'new'

and after that its never had any problems, interesting to hear you say they get better with use as I could not belive how fast it locked today almost as soon as I turned the unit on in the house, full signal in about 15 seconds!
