Ipaq Hx 4700 Running Tom Tom 5 Navigator (BADLY)
Discussion
I have the above combination. The problem is that the screen on my Ipaq randomly resets and then freezes. This cannot be overcome unless I perform a soft reset on the Ipaq. I am using the Tom Tom Blue Tooth GPS receiver and wondered if anyone was aware of any possible conflicts.
Tom Tom maintain this should work with no issues. Hewlett Packard have had my Ipaq in for repair twice in the last 2 months for repair but this problem persists.
Any advice or information would be very much appreciated.
Thanks

I'm afraid I'm going to be as helpful as a wet fart in a wind tunnel.
I've had three iPAQs and all three have gone west. I've had the same symptoms as you describe and now have an imate JamIN, whatever one of those is. Many will no doubt disagree, however the combination of unreliability and a battery that lasted 10 minutes between charges didn't cut it for me. They're poop.

I'm using the same combination of HP4700 and tt, only with a Holux(?) GPS and don't have any problem although I seem to remember a couple of random resets early on. Works fine however.
I have upgraded to tt6 now and that's fine too (only upgraded because I wanted European maps)
Probably not much help, but a shame to knock the HP product when actually, it is a brilliant bit of kit.
Cheers
Neil
