Dear fellow petrol heads,

My boss has asked me to find out about Sat Nav systems as he wants to buy one for his wife for Christmas. I'm not a big fan of them to be honest, always been fine with a map, some advance planning and the ability to follow my nose! This is where I need your help - getting the bosses wife's Christmas present wrong is not a good thing!

have you got any idea of the good, the bad or the ugly? Any you would steer clear of, or recommend whole heartedly?

Price isn't that much of an issue but I guess they would want traffic alerts, and speed camera warnings included.

Can anyone help?

Much appreciated

AM just looking for my first one too - include the Garmin Nuvi 660 (seems to be the bees knees) - £400 from Halford's in your search.

For a very good Sat Nav and camera detector - have a look at the Snooper Indago and Syrius (wide screen Indago).
Both run the same system/maps/camera data base.

Looks god but isn't the speed-camera detection feature going to become illegal?

I swear by my TomTom1, the biggest factor is that it's loads smaller than the others in the tomtom range.
Visit www.pocketgpsworld.com (or something like that!) they have reviews of all models on there
