Strange question this but has anyone got a origin b2 in the south west, or ideally in Exeter? Basically it looks like my connection lead from the pc to the headset has given up the ghost and therefore my updates have well siezed to exist, anyone?

Mine's pretty much failed also, I picked up a USB cradle from Ebay. Seems to work well.

Hmmm how did you do that! I've been searching for a usb cradle for ages, any chance of throwing a link across?

Anyway Origin are quite happy to replace it, let's just hope that's what it is.

Just happened to come across one. My usual methods. Brute dumb luck.

They replaced my lead, too.

The plug appears to be very delicate.

Just taking this in a different direction;

Has anyone had their Origin hardwired into their car? What exactly does it entail? Where do the wires go, how do they go behind the dash, and finally has anyone done it themselves, and how hard was it?

If not, where have people gone to get it done in and around Exeter? Basically I'm asking because I don't want to have to be forced to walk into falrauds and get them to do it for £40.

I've hardwired mine into 4 different cars now, dead easy to do.
The biggest issue is getting power to the unit, I've opted to use a permanent live, so that the unit doesn't turn off if I stop to refuel etc.
Other than that, just remove the relevent trim panels in order to hide the cables and make sure that the GPS aerial can see the sky and the laser receiver is low down in the center of the windscreen.

Forgot to say that depending on your car, you may find that if you try to only use the origin cradle as a mounting the unit may pop out occasionally, I got around this by using a no-holes bracket on my dashboard and screwing the origin cradle to that.
