Hi

I've got a Navman PIN 570 onto which i've installed TomTom V5, however when i open the application it goes through the set-up procedure, ie language and time format settings. However it then say's "No maps found". I have the maps for Great Britain loaded onto the same SD card as the software.

Does anyone know how i can change where TomTom looks for the maps, at the moment i can't get past this stage.

Regards

Chris

What's wrong with the Navman maps that come with the PiN570? Don't they both use the same Tele Atlas maps anyway?

Hi, the problem is i can't get past the initaial config stage to point the TomTom software to the map directory.

Only reason i'm nstalling TomTom is because the Navman stuff can only handle the first 4 charactors on a postcode.

I use my Navman for work and the first 4 characters of the postcode is sufficient... assuming you know the rest of the address of course. Why the need for the full postcode? Sorry can't help you with the Tom Tom software

Couple of times this week i've been visiting suppliers who have units on trading estaes which i've not been able to find using Navman. Tried a mates TomTom yesterday and it found them straight away. However i do think the Navman stuff is far easier to use and will therefore be my first choice, with the TomTom been used as a backup.

Incidentally, which Navman unit do ou have?

I've got the PiN 300 which I've had for 2 years now and I've just bought the PiN570 for the missus for her birthday. Can't believe how much they've come down in price - I think it's excellent value for what it does?? Know what you mean about idustrial estates and business addresses though!

Absolute bargin at the moment, i bought mine a few months ago, cost me £170, now that's what i call a bargin. Until i looked the other week and found them for £135! I really can't see the point in going for a stand-alone satnav when these do everything they do plus all the usual Pocket PC stuff.
