TT1 & Speed Camera downloads
Discussion
Yep, I've gone the PocketGPS route as well. Yes, it is a little out of date for some roadworks but other than that seems just fine. I found the best version to download is the Tom Tom HOME version. You just unzip the downloaded file into the download directory indicated in the Advanced section of the Preferences window of Tom Tom HOME. You can then choose to install the cameras to your TT just like any official TT download and, I presume, uninstall when the next version of the PGPS database becomes available.
I have had a Classic Tom Tom Go for a couple of years now and earlier this year we bought a Tom Tom One for the wifes car.
I use the Pocket GPS database for both and have used it on the GO for almost as long as I have had it.
I have driven all over the country and found it to be very accurate for existing cameras but would agree with the previous post that its main failing is were temporary cameras have been removed they are very slow to change the database. However this is definitely the best way round.
I also bought a Snooper which I use as well, paranoid I know, which I pay £4.95 a month for updates for, PGPS is £2 month, £19 for the year and I have found the same problem with that.
