I bought a TT1 just before xmas last year - it packed in within 2 weeks and Argos replaced it right away.
this one has been fine for 10 months, then yesterday it too packed in without warning.
Again, no probs with Argos who gave me a full refund right away, so I promptly went out and bought V2 for £30 less!
My worry is the reliability of the product - is it just my luck to have had 2 units fail, or is there an underlying problem out there?
Lets hear from you....

plug it into a home computer with an internet connection.
Go to the Tomtom website and download the Tomtom Home Manager software.

This will examine yoru TT and tell you what downloads are available.

Had my TT now for 12 months. Upgraded to the latest version of firmware 2 montsh ago that has a lot of additional functionality. Its superb. Mine gets left in the glove box when not in use, and usually the battery goes flat too. Never missed a beat.

There's a nice little reset button underneath. Works a treat if it gets stroppy.

Make sure you wipe the sucker marks off the windscreen or Mr Chav will have it away in no time ....

And no car theif ever looks in the glove box, I bet you keep your Ipod and the front of your radio in there too!

Yes but any car could have one in the glovebox if there's no evidence of its presence. The tea-leaf breaks in at random and finds the glove box empty most times. As has been said already, remove the cradle AND the mucky mark on the screen.
