After a real battle with Halfords over my buzzing TT500 and them eventually agreeing its faulty and giving a refund I'm in the position where i have £299 on my card to be spent on a new Sat Nav unit.

Now my 500 was fine, but i bought it for the phone bit, which i didnt use as 2 weeks later the company put a hands free in the car, and the europe bit, which it turns out i'll never use.

So now i'm wondering whether it worth me just buying the new TT1 for £190 or get a TT510 for £299?

Seems like the TT1 will perfectly ok and i can save £100.

I only use it for postcodes for clients and the occasional POI.

Is the new TT1 any quicker than the 500/510?

What are your views - which one should i get?

The 510 gives you the option to add the RDS-TMC (traffic announcement) aerial… which IIRC the One doesn't...

If you're not bothered, save yourself £100..

I'd go for the One, get free Wap access and do the traffic that way, Far better than the TMC version, it can only handle a limited amount of alerts.
And the one v2 is now £180

Just bought a One v2 today and I must say it is superb, far better than the £2k unit in the subaru

bringing this up again.
I'm looking at the TT one and the 510. Is the only real difference the socket for the aerial?

I'd be interested too - does the TT1 have BT / handsfree connectivity?

It has Bluetooth but only for fetching traffic/weather/speed cam information through your mobile phone's GPRS/whatever data connection. It doesn't do handsfree, regrettably.

Oops, sorry, was responding to nicecupoftea, so the TomTom One (v1, but I think the v2 is the same in this regard).
