I've got £250 to spend on a shiny sat nav. I am after one that does the navigationstuff, but also has the camera alerts.

I'm leaning towards the Road Angel Navigator 6000 - but the (foolish?) person in Halfrauds was telling me that "the sat nav and camera detection cannot be used at the same time"

Is this the case? Sounds like bunkum to me....

Anyone got any other recommendations?

As you say, what's the point then? (Only turn the camera bit on when you're approaching a camera? hehe)

Exactly! The points of interest (aka cameras) can be assigned voice alerts from the same site. My TT1 says "Gatso - 30", or "Specs".

Don't get a navigator 6000 - you can get the real one which is far superior (usually about 350 quid) from comet website for £250. mine arives on monday - I'll let you know how it performs.

Helfrauds and plain stupid, the 6000 or Nav both allow either combined speed cameras and Nav screen or independant camera alert screen. He probably told you the moon was made of cheese silly honestly you don't need to know much to work there.

OK, so I'm now the proud owner of a TomTom One. Whilst I download the speed camera locations from pocketgpsworld a quick question.

Is there anyway to get the Tom Tom to tell you your current speed?

It's in Change preferences, Status bar preferences. You need to tick the speed box.
