Blackspot road angel modem update problem?

Does anyone else have a problem with updating a road angel using the road angel modem?
I have been unable to load an update for 4 weeks now (I use a Mac and do not have access to a PC, besides which the modem allows me to update while away from home). After a lot of checking of the modem, wiring, phone lines etc I finally submitted an enquiry to blackspot technical help. The somewhat useless reply was to ask me to phone the helpline! When I did this, the very nice lady said that this was an ongoing problem with a BT link to the servers, and by co-incidence BT were investigating it that very day... She also said that it had been like that for 3 weeks, and that they did not know when it would be fixed. A week later and it still doesn't work. As I have just extended my subscription for 3 years, I am not too happy about this, though she did say that subscriptions would be extended to compensate. I am waiting to hear more from blackspot, but I do think that they could at least post a status report on the website (though this may of course put people off buying one if they see that the lines are down for several weeks at a time).
My hope is that if enough of you have the same problem and reply to this post, then it might get to the attention of blackspot (or I can post the link to them) and encourage them to fix it, provide an alternate update method or at least post an update for users.
