Hi All,
When switched on, my Indago is frequently reluctant to lock on to the satellites, and establish where it is! It can take a serioulsy long time (30 minutes plus) to do this.

When it does work, i'm quite pleased with it, but this problem is extremely frustrating.

Anyone else having the same problem, if so have you solved it?

Many thanks
David

I tend to get this when I havent used it for a while. It's never taken as long as half an hour, but I have waited about 15 minutes for it to kick in. Switching it off and on can sometimes help, but other than that I'd also like to know if anyone else has a solution

Thanks Ungarsee, i've tried the on-off method, without much joy so far.
If we don;t see any other replies, i'll contact them and see what teh have to say. Just out of interest, what version of software do you have?
mine is 1.1.0.7, the map is gb-10/16/2005 and warn (?) is 1.06.7.29.

H/w is SNP1000 04

I found this by going to configure menu, third page, Version icon.
cheers

i read somewhere about another sat nav that when switched on from cold (ie no charge in the batteries) it can take up to that long to get a fix, but a long as you don't let the batteries run flat it should get a fix really quickly after that. dunno if this is the same.

Thanks for your reply, but i haven't yet let the battery run flat.
I'll get on to Snooper and see if it is a known issue.
If i get an answer, i'll post it back here.

Mine did the same and I rang Snooper and went through a 'hard reset' on the unit with no efect, so sent it back to them and got a new unit within 48 hours, tested, and all my lifetime update subs transfered onto it,

Top customer service no complaints here!

My b2 sometimes takes a while (several minutes) to get a lock but that is usually only if I haven't used it for a while and/or I am moving. It always locks on much faster when stationary. Could this be part of your problems?

Hi mefoster, it is true to say i don't use it often, and i am sometimes moving when i switch it on, but i'd be upset of a piece of kit costing this much couldn't cope with these situations. sometimes it takes in excess of 30 minuntes to lock on - not useful if you are lost

Oh I quite agree, that is an excessively long time. I was just asking whether it was a case of lock on in couple of minutes when stationary as opposed to making it work a lot harder to get a fix when moving. I generally wait until I have a lock before I start moving, it only takes a little while and it's better than waiting an age otherwise.

The 'new' unit has been superb with no problems whatsoever and it locks within seconds anywhere,

I did not ask if it was a known problem but I have not heard of anyone apart from yourself with any issues with the unit,

and Snoopers after sales was superb, a nice new unit within 48 hours,

Thanks for that Mr Simba, still haven't done anything about it yet, but you have motivated me to get on to them. I'm using it tomorrow for the trip up to Blackpool (250 miles each way), so it will have plenty of time to lock on to the sats laugh
