Help!!

Loaded new version software (v6?) of the TT website over the weekend into my factory recon'd TT 700 - first time I've connected it to the PC in the 3 months I've had it!

Now won't boot up past the point that the screen with the picture of the TT against a line drawing of the car interior appears, no matter how many times I reset it.

To make matters worse, my PC will now not recognise it is connected via the USB for me to reinstall the previous version that I had fortunately backed up on the PC prior to carrying out the update!! banghead

Bought from TotalPDA web site, who I will ring later, but have also logged a call with TT themselves for advice/resolution.

Any ideas?!

Thanks
Nick

Firmware V6 is notorious for being a PITA.

Check out www.yournav.com forums - plenty of info and solutions there.

Update - still not booting up!!

Ready to throw it out of the window!

PC will not recognise it exists in MyPC part of XP and hence cannot edit the files - nor does TT Home see it

Have just reset it again and left it for 30 mins - it booted to the same screen and then switched off!

Any other ideas?

Odd, only thing left to do is contact tom tom , mate , tell them that doing the upgrade has buggered it and you want it sorted .... sound angry if possible hehe

Thanks for that!

Had been in touch with TT Techy helpline & have to say that they were very good, BUT in the end they told me to send it back to them to be sorted.

Link from their site to UPS site to print bespoke returns label (sexy!) and Robert's your Dad's brother - very slick and easy (I work in parcel industry so quite anal about that sort of thing... silly )

Now going off to check the UPS site for my parcel's tracking.... nerd !!!

In the meantime, I'll continue getting lost!

Cheers

Sounds very much like a failed hard drive, from the research I did when mine died. Same outcome... off to tomtom and back a week later with a new one.

According to the TomTom website, my TT700 (or its replacement?) is now on its way back to me - will hopefully find out more when it arrives!

I know one thing though, I am going nowhere near that TT Home program and in future, IIABDFI... rolleyes

If it aint broke...

Cheers

It works!!!

Looks like a replacement unit as the s/n is different

Pre loaded with version 5.410 - does that sound about right? Was that the version before the dreaded v6?!!

Thanks for support!

Ok, so now this one works OK, except for the fact that the clock won't keep the correct time??!!!

I'm sure I've read about that somewhere scratchchin

Maybe I should stop reading and just use it - no more updates for me...!!!

Cheers
