Tom tom map question

How do you know if the maps are updated on the tom tom site ? i got my 700 around april so would the current maps be updatedor is it worth waiting about a year before updating ?

My map on 700 is ref 606. I can see that an "up to date" map is for sale on tomtom.com.

I have e-mailed them to ask if there is a list of added roads for the "updated" map. Mo reply as yet.

(T'would be too funny to buy the map I've already got)

Strange though:

1) There's a major link road near us, been around for two years & not on the map
2) In France it sent us up a motorway not yet built!

Cheers mate , mines showing the same , have you done the lastest update ? the menus are the same as the 910 etc , its pretty good

Yep.

Mine's worked brilliantly & faultlessly since I bought it (apart from the French motorway).....did a check for updates & backed up last night...and it's locked up twice today!!! (Have you found the reset "hole" on the bottom yet?)

I'll let you know if I get a reply re the map thingy.

Thank you for contacting TomTom Customer Support.

We do not have a list of which roads have been added to the TomTom map update.

However any previous GPS anomalies will have been fixed, new road rules, and any new roads within the last year will have been added to the Maps.

..which I find odd, as the major trunk road round here, which is a least two years old is not on 606.

I think I'll just buy it & see!
