Interesting. Is that defo the "Navigator" rather than the "Navigator 6000"? If so, I too may be interested in that.

Is there a website for this offer advertised in Evo?

The 6000 is £249.99 - so i would suspect it's that one.

Check here: www.pistonheads.co.uk/gassing/topic.asp?t=306093&f=153&h=0 that's basically the difference I found.

As far as new products coming out I've only seen the 9000 in the Argos catalogue but its not out yet just Argos publish everything for the period. Its like all manufacturers every year or two they decide to refresh their product range e.g TomTom having the Go, then the 300, 500 and 700, and most recently the 510, 710 and 910. Everyone does it, if they didn't all the products would look like alarm clocks or like the drivesmart, outdated and bulky .

Oh and it more than likely is the 6000 as that's the entry level one I've got which cost £250.

i was loking on either curry's or comet website yesterday (i'm sorry, i'm too lazy to check which) and one of them definitely had the full RA navigator (not the 6000) for £249 (web price, free delivery... store price £299)

so it may well have been the full version he saw.

the evo add, is the 6000 model...
someone mentioned a 7000 model coming out.

So' I'm guessing the comet stock, is going to be superseced by the nav 7000, and is being discounted as old model stock?

better features than the 6000 though for the same money, if you buy it from comet.

Yep, far superior product for the same cash! Only problem is, I had made my mind up on the snooper indago... for that sort of saving i may have to re-think (the cheapest I've seen an indago for is about £330)

I was very tempted - but I went for the TomTom 510 I saw at 280 (rather than 350) because it has the bluetooth phone connectivity.

And while perhaps not as good on the speed camera front, should still be okay (website says can be used as camera detector only)

Well... it works.
I was a little frustrated to start with because the instructions aren't as clear as they could be (and maybe I was making a wrong assumption or two ) - but after a quick call to their support line (who were very good), I was up and running. Registration was a snip (though you have to provide bank details for DD), updated it with latest data and software and off we went.
It's not very intuitive but within an hour or so I was used to it's oddities, well most of them, and it works well. On my short journey home it wanted me to go the long way around using A roads, but as soon as I deviated from the route it recalculated very quickly. I accept that these devices cannot beat local knowledge and it may sometimes take you the long way around - but it'll get you there (I hope!).
It alerted me to the fixed cameras in my area with no problem and I stored a popular mobile site with no problems.
Thus far, it seems pretty good, but please bear in mind; I have nothing to compare it with. There may well be better machines out there, but this is good enough for me.
