Navman Pin570 v Garmin iQue M4?
Discussion
Folks,
Both of these seem to be on offer at the moment - I'm assuming they are just about to be end-of-lifed but they seem pretty good value. Any comments, good or bad, on either would be appreciated.
NB: I am looking specifically for a PDA type unless someone can show me a good stand alone Sat Nav for £100.
Navman Pin 570 - £138.65 inc VAT
Garmin iQue M4 - £186.83 inc VAT
From what I have read so far the iQue is a slightly better Sat Nav but the Navman is a slightly better PDA.

Hi
Bought the Navman about 4 weeks ago at £170 inc vat, if there now £140 i'd definetly recommend one although i have no experience of the Garmin unit. Mate at work has the same unit as me and has now got Tom Tom software on his system. Both agree Navman software is both easier and more accurate software. Your right to go for PDA unit, why buy standalone Sat Nav when for £140 you can have a pocket pc as well.
Started to use mine as video player when sat traffic jams, loads of free software to download although Navman has Word, Excel, Outlook, Internet Explorer and player already installed.

I've got a Pin570 and it's SmartST software doesn't have full postcode recognition, it only does the first 4 figures. I've got TomTom on mine with full post code recognition and it works a treat (it is easier than the SmartST which comes with the Navman). It is prone to locking out though, but it's easy to do a soft-reset which clears the problem.
I use mine all the time and link it to my office PC for all the PDA functions. The sound is Ok, but if you need to hear it whilst driving, it does have a headphone socket in the top.
Hope that helps.
