Anyone done it? Not officially supported but I'm sure I read on a forum somewhere that it is possible to install it. If it is possible, what GPS device can be used?

TomTom will install on pretty much any Windows Mobile device, as long as there's the storage space. GPS-wise, anything that's bluetooth and supports NMEA/etc. will do just fine. You should be able to pick one up for no more than £40 now.

I am just pulling my hair out with a Pocket PC (orange m1000) and TomTom one.

The software is troublesome to install at best.

Even worse, I've brought a Wired GPS recieve and I can't get it to work. There a range of baud rates and ports, tried them al.

I am a programmer and the whole set up is a joke. Going off sat nav very fast.

Go to post now for help.

Got it setup on my mini xda s no promblem - Needed to use version 5.2 which is available as a download from tomtom site.
I brought a holux bt-321 receiver from ebay - works great with it.

Just tried it and I get a 'Cannot connect to device' message when running TT setup.

Any ideas anyone?

I considered this option as I have a mini S, but research indicated the software is troublesome and the screen too small and fiddly to use when driving. Ended up with a Tom Tom One, which was only £50 more than the XDA kit. Recommend it...

Sorted it. Just had to use version 5.21 rather than whatever I was trying.

I did consider buying another device but I really wanted to try and keep the number of boxes I carry around to a minimum. Am just waiting on a bluetooth GPS receiver now.

I forgot to post the solution on the orange m1000.

It turns out that the wired port for GPS is used by the IR port. The answer is to turn off beam (control panel, system tab, beam).

The baud rate is 9600 and the port is COM1
