Bought it on the way to the ferry. Blinding piece of kit, didn`t miss a beat in france,it picked up every camera and took me where i wanted to go. I was getting picked up today and took Tom Tom with me to show my mate how good it was,as he is thinking of getting one and i made myself look a complete c**t. The f*****g thing would`nt turn on so back to halfords it goes. Anyone else had problems ?

Does anybody know who has stock of the new TTom 710? It is ths model that I want and can not find any stock.

Also, other than the 910 including maps of the US and Cananda is there any other difference between this and the 710? And does the 710 include an up to date UK camera site data base?

Thanks Jonathan

I went back to my TomTom Go "Classic"...!

Although the features of the 910 are impressive, it had a number of issues. I purchased it to replace the Go Classic, as I wanted newer maps and the Bluetooth phone functionality, but crucially the RDS-TMC facility.

Having purchased the unit, the RDS-TMC isn't scheduled for a few months - the main reason for buying it. To be honest, I generally know where I'm going, but I travel at peak times a lot so this was the main feature.

Added to which it had some firmware issues, so decided to wait for a bit for them to sort it out...

sorry i don't know where there are any for sale
but the main differences between the 710 and the 910 are

710 uses SD Card 910 has 20GB Hard drive

910 has USA Maps

910 can read text messages and road names (only with computer voices 710 doesn't have them)
i don't know if the 710 has speed camera database but its easy enough to add

I've had my 910 now for a couple of weeks, crashed once hard reset and downloaded the 6.11 updates and works brill now, tomtom doesn't support my phone o2xda exec but it works making/receiving calls, getting updates weather traffic etc, only the text messaging doesnt work but as i don't send/receive many texts its not a problem.

i had a tomtom navigator 2 on a hp1940 pda before the 910 and all i can say is wow what an improvement... 10 out of 10 from me great bit of kit.

RDS-TMC should be available 3rd quarter like any time now, but you can still get traffic updates via your mobile phone and bluetooth connection, works well and you can set it up to update at regular intervals, mines every 30 mins, not hit any problems yet

Odd, mine just mysteriously refused to turn on as well (after three days of working fine). Reset and all was peachy again. Time to make a little pocket in the carry case to hold an emergency paper clip...

can abyone comment on the handsfree usage, ie does it genuinely replace a 'plumbed in' hands free kit or is it just a stop gap if you're stuck? Opinions on sound quality etc appreciated.
