If I load a map of France (downloaded from Tom Tom) onto a larger SD card and then also copy the UK map onto the same SD card does the Tom Tom figure out where you are automatically when you move between both countries? Or do you have to load each map somehow when you cross the channel?

(Apologies if this has been asked a squillion times before...)

Nope - you just need to ask TomTom to load the new map. Then again - you've got plenty of time while you're on the ferry!

You will have to manually switch maps.
Goto Preferences,
Manage Maps
Switch Maps
Select map from the list.

2 things.
1 Make sure you have regestered your map
2 you'll have to re input any routes or favourites you may have input when in the GB map.

Hope this helps

Actually, once you've registered, i.e. got an activation code for a map, it activates any subsequent maps automatically, so if you happen to be browsing, for example Limewire, and find some maps, they will be useable. Or so I've been told.

I have got several maps on a single SD card, and as mentioned you have to select each map as you need it. Obviously, this isn't a problem if you have the Western Europe map (which I have).

Can anyone help us please? Someone sent us a TomTom ONE from Germany. It is loaded with a card for Germany and we received CD Rom disks for Western Europe. We need to know how to download those CD Roms onto Blank SD cards. And then how to get them working.:-) We need France and United Kingdom in our TomTom. Is anyone out there who can explain to us please?

I have tried loading maps from existing software, and as this failed, I tried IE limewire, and you do still need to avtivate them all....
