I use TOM TOm Nav 3 on a Pocket PC...bought sadly about 1 month prior to release of 5.It is very good indeed. In order to have warnings for cameras etc you need to go to pocketgpsworld.co.ouk and download the appropriate maps for the device install the appropriate files and set up the visibility as a "point of interest". To have warnings you need an application called POI warner with alerts you at a customisable point prior to the POI.Once downloaded and installed they are very useful. The site updates and it is necessary to update as frequently as you can.Static cameras arent a problem it is the sneaky temp cameras and the rapidly multiplying SPECS we need worry about!
A quirk of Tom Tom camera warnings is that if you tick the box which says "Only warn of cameras in direction of travel" it misses some cameras out - I've never tried it, but it is recommended not to tick that option.
Pocketgps.co.uk is a great resource - the camera sites are sent in by subscribers, and updated once a month, so the database keeps up very well the fixed and mobile camera sites.

Liked the idea of an advanced, visual warning of POIs, so I've just bought and uploaded POIwarner and it seems to be ok. Buggered if I can get the POIs to synch from POI handler.com though; are the speed cams a pay for subscription service? Only reason I can think of for seemingly being registered but not able to get the software doing its stuff..
Either that, or I need to register at both POIhandler.com and the german site, (which is a bit of a problem as I don't speak a word of the language and struggled to get anywhere with that one)..
Any ideas?

TT5 allows POI warnings without any further applications, just set the warnings per poi category and allocate a distance and one of the sounds to it.
Incidentally, it's important to check the "warn when poi off-route" box (or somesuch) as the gps location of the camera is not always exactly on a road. Unfortunately this also gives warnings for camera which are on different roads altogether, depending on how far in advance one sets the warn distance (e.g. I have 60 & 70mph sites set to 800yds). Still, it's clear from the display where the poi site actually is.
