Portability of TomTom Maps

If I add Map of France to my TT1 1GB SD Card, would this card work (for GB and France) in my sister's TT1?

I've done the same but on a 512mb. It won't work because the map has to be registered to a particular tom tom unit.

Just swap Tom Tom Ones for a little while. If not you can get the map for 40 quid from tom toms website but you probably already know that.
