Has anyone had any problems? just back from a driving trip in Spain and the damn thing let me down twice, seems to suddenly show the Tom Tom splash screen and you have to reboot it. Just tried it again when I got home and its saying no S.D. card loaded, but works ok with old smaller capacity card.

Does the TT One work with only a specific brand/spec S.D. card, or will any do?

I am about to get a 1gb card for my new TT One; could you please tell us which brand you have? I was assuming I would go for one from Crucial for about £34 inc VAT and delivery.

Maybe the card has a different read write speed??
I really can't see a 1gb being a problem as the ONE is new, and 2gb and 4gb are on there way!

The card is made by SanDisk, I just looked at their website at compatability and it does not mention any Sat Nav systems worryingly,(I ordered it at the last minute before going on holiday) can anyone recommend any other makes that defo are compatible with Tom Tom one?

SanDisk are one of the biggest and best names in flash memory (especially for the high performance memory used for high-end cameras), so that shouldn't really be the issue unless the One (or TomTom in general) is quite finickety.

Are you sure you're not just encountering issues with TomTom anyway that were highlighted by the fact you were using it a lot during your trip?

It seemed to do it after a couple of hours use when the internal battery was probably low and I was using the car charger, at first I thought the car charger was not charging, but the green charging light was on last time the unit failed so god knows. If I put my onld 128 mb card back in it works fine, if I try it with the 1gb Sandisk card it displays warning that card not inserted.

Sounds like a failure on the TomTom side if it will no longer acknowledge the presense of the card, but perhaps not. I'd be inclined to blame the TomTom as I've heard of so many failures, but never seen a flash card go wrong.

First thing to do (as its easiest) is check that the memory card is OK in a card on a PC. If that's OK then if you can reboot/reset the TomTom - give that a try and see how it goes.

I can't recall if SD cards have different power requirements over the range though, so it might be worth checking if your 1GB card wants to suck more juice.

It works fine with the old 128mb card, left it on all night no problem, thats why i suspect the card has failed....
