TT 700 - personal waypoints/route marking & external aerials

Is the TT700 capable of 'tracking' a route - to see where you've been? E.g. could it plot the course of a racetrack for example? Does the user have the ability to enter a POI instantaneously?

Wrt to external aerials, where are these typically mounted? Have people found them to *significantly* boost the signal in built up areas/cities?

Lastly, has anyone used any 'cracked' or ebay sourced 'update' software for the devices? thanks
