I was about to press the button to buy a TT700 at £350 (ebuyer.com) when I wondered if anyone knows if there is an imminent update using the SiRFStarIII GPS chipset like in the ONE (ONE plus European Maps is around £425) ?

I've been wondering about this too, as I was also about to purchase (although it was the reports of failures that mainly put me off for now).

My guess is they'll release something early summer at the technology shows, so unless you really need it now, you might be best off waiting.

I'm edging towards plan B with the TomTom ONE for £250 and the TT European maps on CD for £100 (stuff them on my own SD card).

I'd agree, I really can't see the point in the 700 any more
