TomTom 500 in a van

Hello folks.

After lots of reading and thought, I'm on the verge of buying a TT500 for my van.
The question occurs to me - will it work well in a big tin box or will I need an external ariel?
Any van drivers here with any answers??

Also, does the 500 display the vehicle speed?
And can I get lots of funny voices for it?

Yeah it will work in a van fine.
But why are you going for the 500??
It doesn't really do anything different than the newer but cheaper TomTom One, and I think the one has a quicker processor and it is far more portable!
