Has anyone bought the new(ish) Snooper Indago Satellite Navigation system? I like the sound of the interface and the smart mute function regarding the speed camera functions. Ideally I am trying to replace 2 boxes (Roadangel and TomTom) with 1. Although I lose the laser detection the benefit is a clean dash, no?

I bought the snooper indago after having tried the Road Angel Navigator which must rank as one of the worst units out there.

The indago compared to that is a dream!

Firstly, the sat reception is very strong which enables one to locate the unit away from the windscreen area( i use mine by the gearshift)

Secondly, the mapping is superb- its the same used as Garmin.

Thirdly, it has the automute feature which means one is not troubled by warnings all the time.

The keyboard used for postcode input ect is easy to use.

Its expensive but its very compact and all touch controlled with no buttons.

Can only suggest you try it

European mapping £99 from the snooper website - i think it's a separate SD card, so nned to swap them over and will not therefore be able to plan a journey from UK to Europe in one go

another question if I can ask...

the use of such devices (being a sat nav) is allowed in France?

it is like the Tom Tom so if a french cop want to confiscate it, it can happen given that there are speed cameras locations mapped into the sat nav?

I would be tempted to say that no (wishful thinking!), it cannot be confiscated but I'd love to have your opinion
