Mitac Mio A201 - any good?

I'm in 2 minds as to whether or not a PDA TomTom system is worth it over a boxed TT500. I would like a new PDA as my old one is a load of cack. Main use will be diary and address functions, no need to send email or anything like that. Occasional use for files perhaps, but very unlikely.
I like the sound of this being an all in one rather than having to lug about a Bluetooth reciever also, and the fact that you can carry it in your pocket and use it on foot appeals.
Opinions?

My son has one of these, his girlfriend bought it for him and paid extra to have it up and running.
However it stopped finding sats the next day. I re set the settings and it was fine.
Until it stopped finding the sats again. Actually it does find them but not with a strong enough signal to work. So its going back.
When it works it is very good, TT5 software. I "suspect" they are perhaps not as reliable as they might be (internal not external). The suction mount is very good and made for the unit too. Sound is fine, screen good etc etc.
Hope this helps. This unit when working is ideal.
One more thing, getting advice seems harder then it should be....

Thanks for the note - I've ordered one so will see how we get on. Will be interesting to see if I have similar issues as you've noted or not. I had an excellent review from someone else on another forum, and for the previous version (the 168). Hopefully your son's was perhaps faulty and they'll replace with a sorted one.
Well, an update for anyone who's interested in this.
The package I wanted with Euro maps apparently is not compatible with this set-up (or something). The woman I spoke to at the company who sets up and supplies them was pretty unhelpful and couldn't explain why the ones they had wouldn't work.
What she did say was that if I bought the Euro maps seperately then I could load them onto an SD card myself and they would work, but the package they had would not. I have absolutely no idea how she worked that out, I suspect more than a small amount of BS was being fed my way, BUT I decided to go for the UK package and I'll upgrade in the future if ever I feel the need.
It was rather disappointing though as the Euro package was at a good saving and I'd have preferred to have had the lot in one go.
Anyway, so I decided to take the UK version for now (ready supplied on SD card with free scamera database installed) and the whole unit & package is (so far as I can tell) really rather good at this price point. The PDA is a good size, comes with everything you need and the flip out GPS antenna does not make it overly bulky as it folds almost flush to the unit.
It picks up a signal quickly, the processing time when you re-route is as good as any TTG unit I've seen in action, plus you have the benefit of the PDA (which I wanted).
All in all, for the UK pack, I think this represents very good value.
