Garmin I3 Map probs

Used My i3 today. On return journey was fitting power cable when I popped out the SD card. The unit then didnt work - showed a PIC of a PC and said to download maps from my PC. Well you cant do that as the software with the unit doesnt include maps!
So I did a reset - and now it has another screen sayng you need to install map data to use the unit see enclised set up guide (well there isnt one and nor does pocket GP or Garmin website help).
Looks like a call to Garmin tomorrow.
How annoying.

Gazza, did you get any joy when you contacted Garmin?

No !! They told me a load of tosh re resetting etc depsite me explaining I had tried that !! I have gone back to them and await an update!! I think I need a new SD card with maps on.

Garmin have agreed that the CARD is stuffed and so will fix if I Send the whole lot to them etc.. Not a bad service.

Got a new unit back. Just loaded POIs, cameras etc - ready to roll again! Missed it !

Where did you download the POI database from as www.pocketgpsworld.com/subscription.php have decided to charge a subscription fee ???

I still had the POIs from a month ago - so no probs.
