Testing out my TT700 today, I set it to my exact house number. I live on a long road, about 3 miles in total.
I thought it strange when the TT sent me on a strange route. Then I found out why. It said that I had arrived, but I was still 1.2 miles from my front door.

The strange thing is, if I use the post code option and then put in the house number it gets it right.

Anybody else had something similar, and why is it wrong?

Don't worry mine refuses to accept that my road has a house number 7 in it.

I use TT3 on a PDA - When I set it up first time I was sat in my office and set that as my "Home".

Returning from a trip I arrived home and it showed I still had 8 metres to go. Paced it out and my office was 6 metres from where i parked.

My replacement for the Audi wont be specced with satnav as I intend to buy either an RA Navigator or a TT 500/700. Problem is, I know of 4 peeps in the past 2 weeks who have had trouble with their TTs (2 having been returned/swapped) so now Im wondering just how bad the TTs are? The Navigator is at the top of the pile currently.

Go for the Indago mate, looks far better and works too.

To be fair a lot of postcode data you can buy from the "quality" providers is not that accurate, I've been working with some goegraphical and postcode overlaying onto them lately, and when you check up on them, they are often wildly out, my guess is that actual data is only available at sector level (to the number after the space).

It actually got it right when I used the postcode function and then put in the house number. It only got it wrong when I put Town > Street > number.
