.....in 'My Computer'? I had a long conversation with the Support team and all the could come up with is that my USB ports needed 'cleaning up'. They said they would send me a program via e-mail to do this, so I gave them my address.
The program they sent came as an attachment and the account I gave them was my Outlook Express address, which doesn't allow attachments. So I never received the program.

WTF is going on? Why doesn't Tom Tom show up in 'My Computer'? I have my doubts about the ports not being very good, they work fine with my digital camera and broadband modem.

PLEASE help, I need to get the camera POIs loaded.

Cheers.

I'm also new to this but would ask if you plugged the usb in before switching on the TT700?
It is also wise to plug in the TT power lead as well but this should have no impact on the problem unless the battery was low.

The TT should appear as a drive in much the same way as your digi camera.

I've been speaking to the customer support again today and he says it's because I'm running Win 2000 Professional and the drivers need updating. Especially the USB drivers, from version 1/1.5, which I apparently have, to version 2.

I'll try that later, see how it goes. I was runnig the device from the mains and tried all sorts of different scenarios. I even tried it on my old PC running Win98, but it was the same.

I just plugged in my digi camera to the same USB port and that shows up in 'My Computer' as a removable disk. So, who knows?

When I first plugged my TT500 into my PC I could not see it. After plugging and unplugging a few times, turning the unit on and off, wiggling the cable and such like, it suddenly appeared. Next time I plugged it in same thing, until I wiggled the cable in the back of the TomTom and it appeared. Not very high tech, but worth a try! Also, it does appear to need to be plugged into the mains adapter for some reason.

Once it showed up I just dropped the speed camera files into the maps folder and I was away.

Hope that helps.

By Jingo!!! I think I've done it. I needed to install a driver for my USB Mass Storage thingy. So, here's hoping.

Cheers Lads.
