Have seen a snooper s5r for £100, is this any good or are there better systems around, it seems that the Valentine One is good but that seems a lot more expensive

I'm very happy with my V1, though it doesnt pick up specs, buy from the US and pick one for about £250

Hi

The best unit is the Bel Vector Europa 966R £444.99
The detector head is mounted behind the front bumper on mine - so it's 100% invisible - very handy in France

Cheetah Sentinal, well worth a look. Full remote system. Cordless as well, less wires to run and good range.

Another vote for the V1, works a treat with gatsos!
No way a radar/laser detector could ever pick up specs which is a video camera with ANPR basically, I have PDA Sat Nav with camera db as well to cover those other fixed ones.

Is there a good system that covers fixed cameras and mobile laser etc ones? OR do you need to buy two units?

You could just rely on the GPS based systems or satnav with added camera dbs. My satnav camera db gets updated each month with latest potential mobile locations too. A Detector can possibly aid you with the mobile ones though really for radar related ones only.
Chances are the laser detector will tell you you're nicked and to expect the NIP in the post. One of my mates with a V1 can personally vouch for that! He knew the NIP was coming basically as the V1 told him sure enough it arrived.

I'm considering the New Road Angel for £299, but not sure if something like the Tom Tom one would be better as apparantly it also does fixed cameras plus sat nav.

If you anyone is looking at just a GPS based system then I would recommend the little Garmin i3 Satnav unit. It retails at £199 but is apparantly down to £99 in Somerfields at the moment (or £140 in Woolies Sale which is where I got mine last week before seeing the Somerfield offer). Cheaper than most speed camera GPS units and you get navigation thrown in.

You can get the free speed camera database from the below link so no need to even pay an ongoing subscription.

Seems to be very good so far and I am not bothered about laser detection, as said above once your hit your hit!!
