I had SmartNav in my previous car which is now in a carrier bag. SmartNav included dynamic rerouting based on any traffic delays their network identified. As an alternative to having the SmartNav fitted in my new car I am considering buying a TomTom and using their traffic service, but have heard that this is not very reliable. Does anyone have experience of this system? Is it worth the £60 per annum subscription?

TomTom do a months free trial, when I pick up my 700 in the new year, I'll enable it when I'm doing some serious miles and do a review.

Well it works... sort of...
I have activated the months trial on my TomTom One.
Interfaces a treat with my Nokia phone.
It let me know about the accident on the A1 at Boroughbridge yesterday but it said only 0.18 hour delay. So I stuck with the A1.
An hour and a half later, still in the queue, I wish I had trusted my instincts and diverted myself.

I won't be subscribing.

The TomTom One is an excelent piece of kit for £219 though.
Why pay more???
