I bought a Garmin Street Pilot some time back it turned out to be great for route planning and was invaluable on both Hoons this year. The connector to the USB port came loose recently and I discovered that it could be repaired by a simple replacement part. Garmin wouldn't supply the part and insisted on it being returned and suggested that I would only pay for what was required. "Yeh" So I insisted that they give me an estimate.before proceeding with the repair. It arrived back within 3 working days and to my surprise I found that it was a new replacement unit. No bill, no charge, no argument, even though it was out of warranty. Now that I am sure you will agree is great service, so buy with confidence.

Great to hear they have that approach to customer service. Especially as I use a Garmin unit which I bought specifically for the PH EuroHoons. So much better being able to use their software to plot specific routes on my PC and then transfer across to the unit.

I can't rate Garmin highly enough (and I keep banging on trying! )

Why people keep harping on about how good TomTom units are is beyond belief, they truely are awful compared to the Garmin product.

Daz, I bought the same 'Quest' and very good it is to, where would you go for a spare car kit though

Here is two. Picked up from Kelkoo:

www.globalpositioningsystems.co.uk/garmin-replacement-suction-mount-with-external-speaker-and-12v-adaptor-description.html

www.satnav2u.com/products/details.cfm?PRODUCT=010%2D10505%2D00&refer=klk

Looks like about £50 plus postage.
