TomTom GO300 vs Navman icn520
Discussion
I've got the Navman its excellent, very portable and compact.
I downloaded the speed camera software and so far the alerts
are spot on.
With all models you need to be aware of changes made to the road network
( a sudden 1 way street that did'nt exist before) new maps tend to be available 8-12months.
but the back on track work quickly so you always get there.
If there is a drawback its only using part of the postcode to find a destination, I tend to use a full address to find places.

I tried the Navman as it was a better size, etc ..... but ended up buying the Tom Tom because it had a much clearer display and the processor was much, much quicker !
I got fed up waiting for the Navman to play catch up with my input of a postcode - this wasn't a problem I had with the Tom Tom or any other sat navs for that matter. The saleman said the processor was the main weak point of the Navman. My view FWIW.

Quick one; are downloads of speed camera sites free from pocketgps.com? Am thinking specifically if this applies to the Tom Tom 300 but not sure if this device is configured to allow free downloads.
Would also appreciate any further thoughts between the 300, Navman or TT 500? Main purpose/requirements of use will be for destination to destination, speed camera location and potentially traffic jam advice.

Hi!
Yup speed camera downloads from pocketgps are free - I put them on my TomTomGo700 (I wanted the European maps) and they're spot on.
TomTom also do a built in traffic system, but I beleive it is subscription and so have never tried it. It is all included in the unit though - i.e. the buttons are there.
I can highly recommend the TomTom Go - I've used it extnesively (through Europe mainly) this summer and it has, quite literally, been faultless.
