roadangel navigator
Discussion
Just had a couple of days using road angel navigator. Glad I didnt buy cos its useless. If battery runs down it takes 45 mins to find new satellites(according to manual-but mine took couple of hours), screen buttons very small, many other niggles. I guess Im spoilt with satnav in Lexus which is superb. and lastly unit is too big to find a decent mounting location which wont obscure windscreen but still work. think will probably go for some sort of pda phone type of nav.
45 mins ? really ? Never had that with my tomtom bluetooth GPS. Fresh out the box it took about 4 mins to lock on. If the battery goes totally flat which has happened more than once (this morning being the latest) when I forget to switch it off it usually locks on within 60 seconds. Maybe it has some kind of back up battery so it remembers where it is, but I didnt see any mention of this in the documentation.
Hmmm.

Just purchased a Road Angel Navigator, and although the manual says it takes 45 mins initially to log onto a satellite, mine was much quicker.
From then on it is a matter of minutes. The display is simple and clear, and the touch screen much easier than using say a 'pen ' as with the Navman.
