Hoping somebody can help,

I'm after an always on rear view mirror/camera setup.

I need the always on options as it's for cars to be used in dynamic driving but have kit/cages in the back so there absolutely zero rear view other than side mirrors which have proved insufficient....

No budget limit short of getting work to develop our own system....

Thank you

Is it a car where you can install an aftermarket Head-unit with a screen?

Most of those will allow you to manually activate the rear view camera. That is exactly the set-up I used in my Exige 410.

You can see it in this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bY3j6Vt8CBk

Something like this with the reverse signal input permanently grounded so it's always on?

Unfortunately not no, it's hard to explain but I basically want it to look like a normal rear view mirror but with a live time feed?

Just buy any mirror type screen, and buy a compatible rear camera.
Most of them have wiring to be triggered to turn on with the reverse light, just wire that wire to the +ve power supply for the camera. Wire all of it into a live feed that is either switched live or "engine running" live.

I'm in the middle of building a Sprinter campervan, and used a dual rear camera (one points down at the rear bumper for parking/reversing, the other points back down the road behind) which is permanently on. Used a dashboard mounted dual screen, but could just as easily have used a mirror type screen.

Cheers gents, I'll have a chat with one of the mechanics and see if we're allowed to do that.
