best brand

Hi all

Thinking of upgrading my stereo to a motorised screen player that can do dvd's mp3 and navigation. What's the current quality like? Any recommendations? During my boy racing days brands like alpine, kenwood and pioneer seemed to be the best, what are the best units they now offer? any new brands i should look out for?

Avic X1R from pioneer seems to be the best at around £1100 plays dvd's, MP3 and cd's with a 6.5" pop out screen.

I use a Pioneer avh-p6600dvd plus avic900dvd sat nav as a combination unit and it works great

Only downside is updated maps are expensive from pioneer £350 but copies can be bought on ebay for £25

I just bought an AVIC X1R. Amazing piece of kit but am now tempted by the umpteen add-ons for it

I already have the iPod interface and reversing camera!

It's not cheap, but you get a fair bit for your money.

I still like Alpine gear even though its not cheap , you get what you pay for
