Not sure if this is the correct forum, but here goes. I use Gmaps through Android Auto, Samsung S23 / Mercedes Mbux bluetooth connection. The "report" option appears on my phone, but does no appear on the Android Auto screen. I also found the same issue recently in the USA in a rental Chevy with AA bluetooth connection.
Any ideas why please?

Hi, the screen size (aspect ratio) dictates the available functionality you see.
On narrow (less tall) screens, the number of buttons available has been reduced to declutter the interface,

The only real option is to hope Google changes the UI.

That said, Waze implements crowdsourcing for hazards much better and I believe the report button is visible no matter the screensize.

I find waze is more agressive with its adaptive routing, which means it will take you off route if there is even the slightly delay and it thinks you will save 2 minutes.

For travelling local, where you know the roads Waze is my go to, It's also very quick to update for cop mobile speed cameras

Android auto may have a different design spec to Android 12 (assumed) of your handset and different features will only be displayed inline with these rule sets

On my GLE, android auto only works via a cable connection, and although the report button is present on my phone, it does not show up on the MBUX screen.

However, I also have a 2025 Mustang, where android auto works wirelessly, and the report button does show up on the Sync 4 screen.

I assume that the MBUX system is slightly older and does not have the full functionality of the newer systems.

Also, the GLE will only display AA in 3:4 format, even though the MBUX has a widescreen, whereas AA in the Mustang extends fully across the widescreen.

Thanks for all the responses. Seems like I just have to hope for a Gmaps upgrade. I have tried Waze, but several times it has taken me down small side roads for no reason, fortunately whilst trying it out in areas that I know, to the extent that I don't really trust it.
