My unit crashes occassionally -screen blanks and goes to start up, one or two mins and it's back to route -any suggestions???

Otherwise been superb and I forgive it it's wrong number of turnings at roundabouts, wrong or non-existant one way streets, propensity to take me down narrow residential roads with speed bumps in towns and absence of some major new roads -i.e. north m-way bits of A1, A650 around Bradford and Keighley (it took me THROUGH Bradford to get to Keighley....).

Mine has just died. I cant help with the crashing problem, save to say mine has never crashed (only lost signal a few times)

As mentioned in my other thread, I read that a lot of them died And had to be returned. All I can suggest is get it checked out if its still under warranty. You dont want a lemon of a unit which eventually dies when the warranty expires.

Which model?

If it's a Classic, 300 or 500 you could try removing and re-installing the SD card just incase it is not seated very well. Re-start from 'nothing' would be the norm if the SD card had been removed.

Just a thought, no guarantee it will work.

As for the maps - hmm. The new maps seem better but not yet excellent.

My TomTom Go 500 died last week too........ wouldn't turn on at all..

then I noticed a small Reset pin hole underneath. Pressd in the little hole with a pair of tweezers and it's came back to life.
Might be worth a try??

I had to resort to the paper clip in the hole a couple of times in the units early days. Never lost all the added info either, which surprised me.

Mine crashes, as I said, but comes back to life after a couple of mins -fortunatley hasn't dropped me in it yet!! Taking the card out/switching it on and off doesn't make any difference.

It's Tom Tom Go -that's why the thread is headed that and not TomTom 300 or 500.....
