Road Angel alternative that shows average speed
Discussion
Hi all. I have been a Road Angel user for years. I spend a lot of time on the A9 so their ability to show average speed within each average camera section has been invaluable.
My most recent Road Angel has died (and to be honest the product itself is a bit crap) so does anyone know of another device that does the same? Note it needs to know to reset after each camera.

The TomTom Amigo app does/did this.
Although it used to be a great app, the updates over the past few months have broken it for some people.
I tend to just use the trip meter on the dash and reset it as needed.
Thank. I’d rather have a standalone device as I use my phone for Waze/nav and prefer it over TomTom. Although it used to be a great app, the updates over the past few months have broken it for some people.

Resetting the trip is an option but again I would ra the er avoid having to do that given the frequency of driving on the A9.

It still does and tells you what your average speed through each zone is.Although it used to be a great app, the updates over the past few months have broken it for some people.

You can run Amigo in overlay mode to show you info on top of whatever nav you wish.Resetting the trip is an option but again I would ra the er avoid having to do that given the frequency of driving on the A9.
I run Amigo all the time (in addition to Android Auto). I stick it on the fullscreen speedometer as it highlights when you're creeping over.
And, as others say, it's good at warning for cameras and monitoring your average speed through specs. It will even announce your average once you're out of them.

We have Saphe Mini units in the cars, they've proved v useful.
I reckon about 6 months on a single charge.
Note the 'pro' requires subscription.. the Mini doesn't.
They display your average speed when in an average speed zone.

I have a Saphe Mini and a Pro. Yup, after 12 months the Pro's subscription has expired and they want £30. I thought the Pro gave some advanced features over the Mini but in practice, I saw no difference in my use other than the Pro's marginally larger screen.
Not sure what to do with the Pro now. Without the sun, it's bricked.

Does the average speed reset after each camera? That’s something the Amigo app does not do. I reckon about 6 months on a single charge.
