I've got one of these head units in a second hand car I bought recently. Every time the car is switched off it reverts to demo mode. I have to select region when it turns on, and it doesn't retain any presets or stay paired with my phone.

Any idea how to fix this?

Pull it out, you'll probably find a red wire and a yellow wire in the harness coming from the back. They need swapping - a lot of harnesses have bullet connectors or similar in them to make this an easy job as car manufacturers are not consistent with their permanent and switched live feeds.

Was exactly that. Very helpful, thanks.

Coming up next on 90s ICE problems... Why won't my Amp turn on when the Stereo does? ... It's the blue wire!

Followed by... Does the Earth wire really need to be as thick as the power cable? Top Tip -Yes!
Could we make this a sticky please?

This post sponsored by the School of corroded chassis earthing points, blown fuses, and never truely securing head units into the dash properly so they fly out and change gear or hit your knee at the traffic lights.
