Help for underseat Subwoofer please
Discussion
Hi
I have a Toyota Proace 2023 and want to keep the existing head unit, and install an underseat sub woofer that has amp integrated already.
Do i need a line output as the OEM headunit hasnt as far as im aware got RCA outputs...if yes can i just tap into the left hand speaker wires or would i need to trace a wire to the left hand speakers aswell?
Thanks guys

Do you mean an active sub with it's own power supply or passive that draws power from the head unit?
Passive subs draw alot of power from their outputs (all their power actually) so wouldn't be a good idea to wire it in along with another speaker or you'll blow the amp in the head unit.
Active might be doable.

Thanks Decky. So its best to wire the sub up to 2 speakers fr right fr left? would i need a Low line output?
Have you already bought the sub?
If you get an active sub, with a speaker level input on it you can wire it to a speaker line.
Here's a good guide https://soundcertified.com/how-to-connect-subwoofe...
