whats the current best speed camera detector/alert? any that have the ability to block(on a closed road of course)?

Also, any that work like a rear view mirror?

Failing that, a dash cam recorder with speed alert?

If you’re caught it’s PCOJ and we all know how much the Police start Policing for that…..

Just use Waze and don’t push your luck?

Nearly all handheld and mobile speed detectors in the UK are lasers, the latest ones are certified for nearly a kilometre, so its possible to be done before you can even see them.

They only give off a signal when actually detecting and its a very narrow beam, they read speed faster than you can react, if your car detector goes off you are already done.

Use waze, its saved me several times from concealed cops and mobile vans and is updated daily for fixed sites

unmarked cars, all you can do is look for cars driving like a cop, gone are the days you could see the concealed modifications like lights

I have used the Tom Tom app on my phone linked to the car through Apple Car Play and it is great for giving GPS speed and up to date warnings re mobile cameras .... it is £20 a year and I felt worth it given the graphics make Waze look like a Fisher price toy app in comparison - that said Waze is totally free !

I only renewed to be fair as I forgot to cancel TomTom ... as BMW has speed camera warnings for a fee and I use their SatNav most of the time anyway. It is only for fixed sites but is pretty good.

Tom Tom does give another option when I want. I just find Waze too annoying tbh.

Which Tom Tom app do you use? Two showing on Apple (Go & AmiGo) - I like that Waze is community based, but the Tom Tom GPS info on speed, average, etc is really useful especially as I have an external 10hz GPS unit too.

There's more than one way to skin a cat. Depending on what you want to achieve and your budget, a Tetra based detection system might suit...h ps://blu-eye.eu/en/product-information.

Others are available.
