Access Hole Cover In Roof Lining
Discussion
The roof of my transit mk8 (along with the walls too!) is lined with a thin metal sheeting product that’s laminated in white plastic sheet. Serves the same purpose as plywood but thinner and lighter I guess. I have no idea what the stuff is called - I’ve seen they use the exact same stuff inside ambulances too for wall coverings etc.
Now that I’ve done a terrible job explaining what the van is lined with, I’m really hoping this is a common covering product and people wiser than me just know what it is! Here’s my question: what options exist for making a small - say 60 or 80mm circular access hole cover in this stuff?
E.g. if I hole saw a 60mm hole in this to get access to a roof bung, what could I fill /cover the hole with?
The best I came up with was a white desk grommet for feeding monitor and keyboard cables through an office desk! I was thinking just silicone it in place? There must be a better option though?
